Joe Dziedzic was named the Class 1A Coach of the Year on Saturday by the Minnesota Hockey Coaches Association.
Dziedzic, the 10th-year Minneapolis coach, guided his team to the consolation championship of the state Class 1A tournament. The first Minneapolis program to reach the state tournament since 1994, it finished with a 23-7-1 record.
Steve Houge of St. Paul Johnson was named the Class 1A Assistant Coach of the Year.
